Ingredients
1 package KANAKI PUFF Pastry
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
250 gr. ham from pork leg cut in smaller bits
6 eggs
1 cup sweet graviera cheese, grated
1 cup regato cheese, grated
¼ tsp nutmeg
Salt, pepper
For the surface:
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp milk
Preparation - Steps
In a small saucepan, heat the butter and add the flour. Stir and add the milk. Heat the mixture for 3-4 min over medium heat, add the salt and nutmeg, and pour the mixture in a large bowl. Add the ham, grated cheese, eggs (lightly beaten) and a little pepper, and stir. Prepare the pie according to the instructions and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for approx. 55 min.
To form the pie in an oblong baking pan:
Lay a large shallow baking pan with baking paper and spread 1 puff pastry sheet. Spread the mixture on top, leaving a gap at least 2 cm from the pastry sheet edges along the perimeter.
With a cooking brush, smear a little water on the sheet edges and cover with the other pastry sheet. Press the edges with a fork, so that they get stuck together.
Open 5-6 holes on the surface to let the steam out while baking the pie. Beat the egg yolk with the milk and smear the surface.
