Greek Spiral Meat Pie

Ingredients

1 package KANAKI Chilled COUNTRY STYLE Filo Pastry
450 g ground beef
200 g anthotyro cheese
1 red onion, finely chopped
1 bunch of parsley, finely chopped
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp allspice
150 g grated tomato
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
6 tbsp olive oil (for brushing and the sauce)
Salt
Pepper
Additional olive oil for brushing the filo

Preparation - Steps

For the filling, mix the ground beef, anthotyro cheese, chopped onion, parsley, oregano, paprika, allspice, salt, and pepper in a bowl until well combined.

For the sauce, mix the grated tomato, garlic, 2 tbsp of olive oil, and salt in a bowl.

Place the first filo sheet on a clean surface and brush it well with olive oil. On the side of the filo closest to you, spread 4 tbsp of the filling and smooth it out with a spatula. Roll the filo into a log shape and then twist it into a spiral. Place the spiral in the center of a greased baking pan.

Repeat this process with the remaining filo sheets and filling, creating a beautiful spiral pattern.

Brush the surface well with olive oil and pour the tomato sauce over the top.

Bake in a preheated oven at 340°F (170°C) for about 35 minutes or until the filo is golden and crispy.
